Champions League, big ratings for the opening three days on Sky Sports

Big debut not only on the pitch but also on TV for the Champions League 2025-2026. The three-day opening of the League Phase scored 4 million 170 thousand average total viewers, in total audience, on Sky Sports channels. The competition is aired not only on satellite channels, but also in streaming on NOW, with 185 of the total 203 matches being exclusive.

Napoli-Manchester City, the partenopei’s debut match aired Thursday night on Sky Sport Uno and Sky Sport 252, registered 1 million 67 thousand average viewers, with 5.7% TV share and 2 million 154 thousand unique viewers. Liverpool-Atletico Madrid, broadcast Wednesday on Sky Sport Calcio, Sky Sport 253 and free-to-air on TV8, garnered 998 thousand average viewers, with a 5.3 percent TV share and 3 million 791 thousand unique viewers.

Also on Wednesday, PSG–Atalanta garnered 263 thousand average viewers, 1.45% TV share and over 1 million 400 thousand unique contacts. The most watched match of the first day, however, was Juventus-Borussia Dortmund, broadcast on Tuesday, with 1 million 152 thousand average viewers, 2 million 90 thousand unique contacts and a 6.1% share.

Interesting audiences also for Diretta Gol, which totaled in mesia almost 900 thousand viewers overall for the 9 p.m. matches.

The audience also closely followed the live studio broadcasts: the Champions League Show in fact garnered 602 thousand average viewers in the pre-match and more than 1 million 307 thousand after 90′.
