Elisabetta Cocciaretto knocked out, Italy gets off to a bad start with Ukraine

Italy did not get off on the right foot in the semifinals of the Billie Jean King Cup.
In the first singles match against Ukraine, Elisabetta Cocciaretto was defeated with a score of 6-2 6-3 by the fearsome Marta Kostyuk (world number 26), after one hour and 29 minutes.
L’Azzurra, always defeated in the previous three matches, moreover all on cement, was unable to earn even a break point against a very solid rival on serve.
Now Jasmine Paolini, engaged with Elina Svitolina, can do no wrong: only a victory will postpone qualification to the decisive doubles.
