Jannik Sinner shows up in China with a knockout blow: fans spellbound

Jannik Sinner’s preparation for the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing began amid applause from the audience that had flocked to watch him train alongside Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov. One shot in particular set off the applause of those in attendance: after practicing a few smashes, the South Tyrolean performed some real magic, charging the ball for effect and landing it directly in the pocket of his shorts.
A shot that demonstrates, once again, the desire on the part of the world’s No. 1 athlete for 65 weeks until the end of the U.S. Open, to have fun and enjoy himself with the racket, beyond all the talk related to results and the increasingly heated rivalry, from a sporting point of view, with Carlos Alcaraz, against whom he has played no less than five finals in 2025 alone.
The’arrival in China for the Beijing tournament also marked a major change in the South Tyrolean’s staff. Images from the start revealed the presence of Alejandro Resnicoff, a physiotherapist who has been active on the ATP circuit for over fifteen years, who is expected to join Sinner’s team as early as this season finale. This new addition represents yet another technical adjustment for the world No. 2, with the goal of finishing an already satisfactory year in the best possible way.
The Beijing tournament represents the start of a busy calendar to close out 2025 in the best possible way. The schedule includes, after Beijing, the Shanghai Masters 1000 from Oct. 1 to 12, the very rich Six Kings Slam in Riyadh from Oct. 16 to 19, the ATP 500 in Vienna from Oct. 20 to 26, and the Paris Masters 1000 from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2. The grand finale will be the ATP Finals in Turin from Nov. 9 to 16 and the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna from Nov. 18 to 23, where Italy will defend the salad bowl it won in 2023 and 2024.
