The 2025 edition of the Laver Cup ended with the victory of Team Mondo. Decisive was the third day in which, once again, a decidedly high level of tennis was achieved. The team captained by Andre Agassi prevailed 15-9 over Team Europe, winning its third title in the past four years.

However, it was no walk in the park, mainly because of Carlos Alcaraz. The world number 1, after a surprise loss to Taylor Fritz on the second day of the tournament, became unplayable again. First, in the company of Casper Ruud, he won the doubles match against the Michelsen/Opelka duo. Then, with a dry 6-2, 6-1, he got rid of Francisco Cerundolo, who was powerless before the Spaniard’s blows.

Two successes that did not, however, have Team Europe to undermine the victory of Team World, which came thanks to the successes of Alex De Minaur over Czech tennis player Jakub Mensik (6-3, 6-4 the partials) and especially Taylor Fritz who, after beating the world No. 1, also got rid of Alexander Zverev (6-3, 7-6), giving the decisive victory to win the trophy.

Now, all the protagonists, will go back to thinking about the various ATP tournaments that await them. Carlos Alcaraz, for example, is expected in Tokyo where he will take part in the Japan Open.
