New stadium: Beppe Marotta speaks out and threatens to leave

Inter and Milan want, at all costs, a new stadium. A desire that has become a real necessity to keep up with other clubs and keep Milan at the center of the Italian football world. What has just begun is the decisive week for the fate of San Siro. The City Council is being called upon to make a choice.
The sale of San Siro must be approved and the entire process completed before next November 10, the last day before the architectural constraint on the second ring is triggered and, consequently, the “total block” of any possible intervention.
Beppe Marotta was clear on the matter: “I am witnessing a somewhat embarrassing scenario, as a soccer man. Soccer in Milan is somewhat sidelined, we do not have the criteria to organize the Champions League final and it is not among the stadiums indicated for Euro 2032. This is because a debate has arisen where even politicians from 30 years ago have spoken, very conservative not innovative, who do not understand that Milan is one of the most beautiful cities in the world from a socio-economic-cultural point of view. Inter and Milan represent two excellences and need to have a new stadium”, his words before the challenge with Sassuolo.
The Nerazzurri president then “threatened” to leave: “If the matter is not resolved, the two clubs would have to go elsewhere. This would not be good for Milan”. In short, we are really at the decisive stages.
