Anna Danesi extols Jannik Sinner but doesn’t feel ready to challenge him

The presentation of Numia Vero Volleyball Milano was an opportunity to listen to the words of Anna Danesi, a point of reference for the team and the national team, who told her story with spontaneity, between personal memories and reflections on the role of athletes as examples for younger people.
“I played tennis for two years when I was little,” she revealed smiling to Sportal.it, “and the other day I tried again to play with my boyfriend. It’s always fun.”
Talking about tennis, a reference to Jannik Sinner, a symbol of the new Italian sports movement, is inevitable: “He is bringing many kids to approach this sport, just as we try to do with volleyball. He is doing something great.”
Danesi admitted that he would not want to take the court against the Italian number one: “I wouldn’t want to play with him because I wouldn’t catch a ball,” he joked, “but meeting him would be really nice.”
Finally, a deeper reflection on the social role of sportsmen: “The values we transmit to young people come from what we do on the field, but we know we have a huge responsibility to the kids who watch us. It is important to be aware of that.”
