Disappointment for Lorenzo Musetti: Azzurro defeated in final in China

Disappointment for Lorenzo Musetti in Chengdu: the Italian tennis player was defeated in the final of the ATP tournament by Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, world number 112, in three sets with the score of 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 in 2 hours and 39 minutes of match.

The Carrara tennis player, who had also lost in the final in 2024 in this same tournament, after a forgettable first set found his tennis again in the second partial, imposing himself clearly. The big regrets came in the third set, where l’Azzurro wasted two match points and then succumbed in the tie break 7-5.

The Italian tennis player could not hide his bitterness over the defeat and at the end of the match burst into tears. For Lorenzo Musetti, it is the fifth consecutive final lost in his career, the second this year: the Blue’s last title dates back to 2022.

Now Musetti will try to put the disappointment aside and try again in Beijing, in the ATP 500 in which world number two Jannik Sinner also participates.
