Juve Stabia dreams of a victory that would propel it within one point of the Serie B leaders, Cesena, Modena and Palermo, but Catanzaro makes a double comeback and in the end snatches a 2-2 home draw that is worth staying in the standings zone that at the moment is worth participation in the upcoming playoffs.

Juve Stabia’s rocket start, very active in the first minutes with Carissoni and Gabrielloni, while Catanzaro tried mostly with Pandolfi on the counterattack. Then Bettella held Gabrielloni in the box: it was a penalty, which Gabrielloni himself converted on 21′. Less than five minutes passed and Catanzaro also believed it could score from the penalty spot, but the Var confirmed that Cacciamani’s intervention on Cassandro had occurred outside the box. After Stabile’s save on Cissé, with the equalizer foiled again, the guests doubled the score on 44′ thanks to a splendid play finished in the best possible way by Carissoni.

The game seemed to be on the brink of a sudden death.

The match would seem to be closed, but even before halftime the expulsion of Cacciamani for a tactical foul on Cassandro leaves Juve Stabia in numerical inferiority. Catanzaro took advantage almost immediately in the opening of the second half, and in fact at 53′ the sub Verrengia netted the ball into the net. The Var validates after a long scrutiny, and the theme of the match does not change: Petriccione nearly equalizes, found instead by Iemmello at 71′.

Tension in the finale, with the expulsions of technical assistant Alberto Gerbo and massiophysiotherapist Gaetano Nastro. The Catanzaro crowd was also enraged by the “only” six minutes of recovery time granted at the end of a match full of interruptions. As time expired, Juve Stabia was saved by Pittarello&#8217s inaccurate aim and Confente&#8217s promptness on Oudin, on an occasion when once again the hosts complained about an alleged penalty that the referee did not award.
