Marco Bezzecchi: "Maybe I started too strong"

Marco Bezzecchi is satisfied with the best time achieved in pre-qualifying at the Motegi circuit, but also aware that he took a risk in the first free practice session, during which he ended up twice on the ground.

“I started off on the right foot, perhaps with a little’ too much charge. Especially the first fall could have been avoided. But I am glad I went strong in the afternoon (Japanese, ed). The guys in the box worked their butts off and I thank them so much” said the Aprilia rider to Sky Sports.

Bezzecchi also mentioned the choice of tires for the weekend: “I am keen to try the medium one again. The asphalt is in fantastic condition, but it is a track where you brake very hard and the degradation is very high. I think the crashes came from the soft all’front: which is why I think we will lean toward medium”.
