Sergio Busquets says enough: the former Barcelona man announces retirement

Sergio Busquets says enough. The 37-year-old Inter Miami midfielder announced his retirement at the end of the season through a video posted on his Instagram profile: “Thank you to everyone and to soccer for everything. You will always be part of this beautiful story”.
“I feel the time has come to say goodbye to my career as a professional footballer– explains the Spanish midfielder -It has been almost 20 years enjoying this incredible story that I have always dreamed of”.
“I retire very happy, proud, satisfied and, above all, grateful… Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, see you soon. Every end is a new beginning” added the’former Barcelona.
A special thanks goes specifically to the Catalan club: “Thanks to F.C. Barcelona, the club of my life. At Barça I fulfilled the dreams I had as a child. I wore the jersey I loved in hundreds of matches, celebrated many titles and experienced unique moments at Camp Nou that I will never forget”.
With the blaugrana jersey Busquets has won: 3 Champions League, 9 La Liga, 7 King Cups, 3 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups and 7 Spanish Super Cups.
With Spain he made 142 appearances, winning a World Cup and a European Championship: “Thank you to the Spanish national team. It was an honor to represent it so many times and experience successes that I will always carry in my heart”.
