Italvolley, Ferdinando De Giorgi does not trust Bulgaria

Ferdinando De Giorgi spoke after the victory that earned the pass to the World Cup final: “With Poland lately we are playing a lot of important games, because when you get to the final stage of tournaments playing against Poland means that you are playing something serious”.

“As it happened today; sometimes they were good, today we were better. We held our own in the moments when they tried very hard – between batting, wall, attack – to come back. We did not break down, even when we suffered two or three points in delicate moments. The team always remained very lucid, with a clear idea of what they had to do to get out of it. We had talked about it, we had prepared it, and so all the guys were clear in the choices they had to make. Today we have to say that Francesco Sani, when he came in, shot some important moments in the sets. Luca Porro also made a great contribution, as did Anzani, who took some decisive walls. This must be our spirit”.

“Now we are still in the running, a group in which everyone puts their own into the court making a difference. Bulgaria is a team that deserved to make it to the finals, a bit of a surprise in the sense that there were strong teams on the other side that were eliminated, but not by their own demerit; Bulgaria played very well. It is a talented, strong team, and so tomorrow we also have to prepare for a game to play until the end”.
