When Flavio Cobolli plays in Beijing: background with Learner Tien

This night at 5 a.m. Italian time, 11 a.m. local time, Flavio Cobolli, world number 25, will play against Learner Tien of the United States, number 52, in the round of 16 match of the ATP 500 on the concrete in Beijing.
The match will open the program on the main court of the China Open, the Capital Group Diamond. Tien, Cobolli’s opponent, will be 20 years old on Dec. 2 and has won three Challenger tournaments and seven ITFs in his career, while in big-game tennis he lost the NextGen final last December to Portugal’s Joao Fonseca.
Cobolli is coming off a fine victory over Andrey Rublev of Russia, Tien, on the other hand, beat Francisco Cerundolo of Argentina. There is no history between the two tennis players.
