When Lorenzo Musetti plays in Beijing: background with Adrian Mannarino

Tomorrow morning, no earlier than 7 a.m. Italian time, 1 p.m. local time, Lorenzo Musetti, world number 9, will face on the Lotus Court in his round of 16 match of the ATP 500 in Beijing the French veteran Adrian Mannarino, number 60.

Mannarino, 37, has won five tournaments in his career between 2019 and 2023, all in the 250 category. In the China Open, he beat Russian-Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik in the first round; Musetti, on the other hand, struggled three sets to get past fellow transalpine Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard. The 23-year-old from Carrara is in the hunt for his first ATP Finals qualification in Turin.

There are two previous matches between the two players, who have won one on each side: Mannarino won 6-4 6-4 in the first round of the 2023 Indian Wells Masters 1000, Musetti 6-2 5-7 6-2 in the 2024 Chengdu quarterfinals.
