Slovenian star Tadej Pogacar thus celebrates his second consecutive world champion title won in Kigali after 104 km of breakaway, 66 solo.
“This victory fills me with pure joy. I too felt fatigue in the final laps. It became a race against myself like last year”.
Giulio Ciccone, who finished sixth almost seven minutes behind Pogacar, was clearly the best of the blue team. Here are his words.
“Today I lost 15 years of my life in just 6 hours: one of the hardest bike days ever, an excruciating suffering. We struggled a lot, maybe also because of the weather. It was a race at the limit of our strength”.
