Jannik Sinner also wipes out Adam Maroszan: he is in the semifinals in Beijing

Progresses Jannik Sinner’s journey in Beijing, home of the China Open. Although struggling a bit, the world No. 2 disposed of Adam Maroszan in two sets (6-1, 7-5) and won a pass for a spot in the tournament’s semifinals. Race of great substance for the Italian who, in the few moments of difficulty, varied his game, finding solutions that challenged the Hungarian.
Great start by Jannik Sinner. At 1-1 he gets three break points and, on the second, comes the break. The Italian is on fire and makes virtually no mistakes. In an instant he closes the first partial with a bombastic 6-1. The Hungarian, demolished in the first set, reacts with anger. As the minutes pass, he gains confidence and, above all, finds important points from his serve, preventing the world number 2 from taking possession of the court.
On 3-3, the Azure goes down 0-30 (the Azure’s bench also rises) but Adam Maroszan does not have the strength to withstand the Azure’s change of pace. In the next game, several break points come for the South Tyrolean but the Hungarian cancels them all. In the next round of serve, it is the Hungarian who creates two break points for himself. The second one gives him the break and the chance to serve for the match. Opportunity wasted: game lost at zero and a new draw (5-5). Jannik Sinner gets back to playing his tennis: break and win 7-5.
It ends 6-1, X-X for Jannik Sinner who thus qualifies for the semifinals of the China Open where he will face Alex De Minaur. It should be mentioned that the Italian won in Beijing two years ago (in the last edition he lost the final to Carlos Alcaraz).
