Ademola Lookman returns starter, Ivan Juric expounds on Nigerian’s tryout

One of the talking points related to the match won by Atalanta in a comeback over Club Bruges, on the second day of the main phase of the Champions League, is certainly the return as a starter of Ademola Lookman, who had not worn the Nerazzurri jersey since 1′ since last May 12, when he played 88 minutes against Roma in the league.
Lookman came off at 61′ on 0-1, making way for Sulemana.
Ivan Juric commented on his performance in positive terms, definitively putting an end to the market case of last summer, with the transfer to Inter sought but not obtained by the Nigerian national himself, who had also missed the start of preparation ahead of the first season with the Croatian coach on the bench.
“I wanted Lookman to play, as well as Ederson – said Juric, who in addition to talking about the former Everton man also commented on the Brazilian’s performance as he returned from injury -. Only at times, however, did they show what they can do. However I think it’s important that they played an hour, we will see now how it will go in the coming weeks”.
A 1997-year-old London native but a Nigerian national since 2022, Ademola Lookman started his fourth season in the Atalanta shirt. As early as 2024, his move to PSG had been aired, which was also blown in that case despite the player’s desire to leave. Today’s was his second appearance of the season, following the 4′ played on September 21 against Torino.
