European Championships, Filippo Ganna silver in time trial behind Remco Evenepoel

Filippo Ganna won the silver medal in the Élite time trial at the European Championships being held in France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
The Italian champion had to bow only to the absolute ruler of the specialty, Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel, who after his gold at the World Championships in Rwanda repeated himself at the continental level as well.
Evenepoel finished with a time of 28’26”, at an average of 50.63 kmh, ahead of Ganna by 43 seconds. The silver medal went to Denmark’s Niklas Larsen, 1’08” off.
In the race for Italy there’was also Lorenzo Milesi, who finished over 10th. With this medal Ganna won two silvers and a continental bronze in the time trials, Evenepoel two golds and a bronze.
