Jannik Sinner returns to success. The Italian, after the k.o. in the US Open final, wins the China Open. For the world number 2, this is the second success in Beijing (he had already triumphed in 2023) and the third of the season out of seven finals played (only eight tournaments played). In total, with this success, Jannik Sinner is at 21 career tournaments won.

In Beijing we saw a decidedly solid Jannik Sinner, especially on serve. Particularly in the final against Learner Tien, the South Tyrolean was really perfect in every aspect of the game, especially just on serve where he showed the ability to raise his level when needed.

The Italian was clear in the post match. Looking to close out as best he can a season that is poised to give him many more opportunities to shine on the court. “We’ll see what the end of the season looks like but I’m happy with what I’m doing,” his clear words.

Unless unforeseen, Jannik Sinner is now expected to compete in the Shanghai tournament, which will not have Carlos Alcaraz at the start. The Italian, in fact, is aiming to reconfirm himself as champion. Last year he took home the Shanghai Masters 1000 by beating, in the final, Nole Djokovic who, interestingly enough, will be on the same side of the scoreboard as the South Tyrolean.
