Paola Egonu and Lautaro Martinez, jersey exchange in Appiano Gentile

Paola Egonu, world volleyball champion with Italy and opposite of Vero Volley Monza, from this year also captain of the team, has never hidden that she is a fan of Inter’s team.

Today, the Venetian player fulfilled a wish she reiterated a few days ago during the roster presentation: to meet Lautaro Martinez.

Inter welcomed her to Appiano Gentile, where she was able to meet the Argentine striker, listen to his advice and exchange the jersey with him, in a special moment also for the Nerazzurri captain.

The volleyball player was prepared about the history of the club: “Who is the player with the most appearances? Javier Zanetti“, she answered, recalling the 858 games played by the former captain between 1995 and 2014.

For Egonu, the role of captain represents a novelty and a new challenge in her career. Lautaro made his debut with the armband on his arm in 2023 during a preseason friendly against Lugano, which Inter won 3-0.
