In the game of the second day of the Euroleague “championship” Virtus Bologna, after the home success three days ago over Real Madrid, was beaten on the road by Valencia 103-94.

In the first quarter it was the Black Vs who got off to a better start, but after having a 4-length lead they were overrun by the Spaniards: 26-23 at the end of the period after even having a +5 margin.

An 11-2 partial at the beginning of the second quarter brings the hosts 37-25 but Dusko Ivanovic’s team and at halftime the gap is the same as after the first ten minutes: 49-46.

The guests immediately get to -1 but an 11-0 partial brings the Valencians back to +12. But Virtus does not give up, recovers again and before the last ten minutes the score is 75-71.

Here, however, two partials are lethal for the Virtussini: one of 9-0 and another of 8-0, with the latter the hosts arrive at 94-79 and this time there is no comeback that holds.

For Virtus, the 24 points of Matthew Morgan, the match’s best scorer, one point more than Sergio de Larrea, were useless.
