Franco Scoglio, 20 years without the legendary coach nicknamed "the professor"

It has already been 20 years since the death of Franco Scoglio, a former coach who was called “the professor” by all, because of his degree in pedagogy and his past as a teacher.
His name is mainly linked to two teams: at Messina he won the Serie C1 championship and achieved historic promotion to Serie B in the 1985-86 season, also touching Serie A the following season.
Visceral his relationship then with Genoa, which he coached in three separate spells, bringing it back to Serie A in 1989. He also guided Udinese, Bologna, and Torino, among others, as well as Tunisia, of which he was technical commissioner.
On October 3, 2005, while participating in a television broadcast on the local network Primocanale in Genoa, Scoglio felt ill. During the commercial called immediately all attempts at resuscitation were in vain.
