During the latest episode of his podcast, Rennar Stubbs commented on the recent words of Carlos Alcaraz. The Murcian complained about the overly busy schedule, a criticism shared by other colleagues as well.

“As much as I love Carlos, lately I have seen that he is literally signed up for almost every December performance. It is rather inconsistent given what he has said. He may decide not to participate in some tournaments if he feels that the schedule is too clogged” said Rennar Stubbs.

“I agree that something has to change but I find it hard to take seriously players who complain but then sign up everywhere. I also think it has a lot of power. I have had a long enough career to be able to say that it is more difficult today, the matches are longer and harder. It is a brutal sport: the time zone changes, the amount of travel…however, players like Carlos can do something”.

October 15-18 Carlos Alcaraz, along with Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Taylor Fritz. Each of the six participants has been guaranteed a minimum prize for participation of US$1.5 million.
