Gianluigi Buffon also holds on to scudetti revoked for Calciopoli

Gianluigi Buffon, now head of the Italian national team, returned to talk about Calciopoli in Frabosa Sottana, Piedmont, where he received the Castagna d’Oro award.
“With Juve I won 13 scudetti, not 11. You have to consider also those won on the field and revoked as a result of judicial decisions. For me those titles have the same value”.
“I was very indulgent until the age of 20-21, because until that age I felt entitled to make and learn from my mistakes. It was a kind of bonus, which I still feel right to have given myself, because achieving fame in youth did not mean automatically assuming the posture of a grown man. In life I have always tried to look at myself in the mirror and never look down: I have made mistakes, but in good faith, in an authentic way. I have always been authentic. I have also been ashamed of the mistakes I have made, however, I have always paid for them myself. This is the best form of learning. This is the only way to become a better man.”
“At 90 percent Italy will have to make the playoff to go to the World Cup. The last matches of the round will have to prepare us to get to that moment in the best way, we are sure that with this unity everything is possible. We need attachment to the national team, it is fundamental”, concluded the’former goalkeeper.
