Milan-Como, Serie A league sings victory

The Lega di Serie A has commented with satisfaction on Uefa’s decision to grant permission for the Milan-Como match to be played in Australia. “We would like to thank UEFA for recognizing the exceptional nature of the initiative and sensitively assessing the situation related to the match being played abroad. It should also be stressed that this is only one match out of 380 in the Championship: an extraordinary event, not a structural change in the calendar”.
“The decision of the UEFA Executive Committee brings us closer to the possibility of holding the match between Milan and Como next February in Australia, I hope that the approval also from FIFA and the Australian Federation can close the authorization process’commented the President of Lega Calcio Serie A, Ezio Simonelli -. I thank all those, starting with President Ceferin, and President Gravina, who were able to grasp the’exceptionality of this event”.
“For us, a contingency situation related to the unavailability of the San Siro Stadium has turned into an’opportunity to please the many Italian soccer fans, who will have the chance to watch the match live in Perth, and also for the two teams and Italian soccer to increase international visibility and fan base. I am sure that Milan and Como fans, who would not have been able to follow the match at Meazza anyway, will understand the sacrifice that will be required of them on this occasion, but which will be reflected in important benefits for their teams”.
