The postponement of the first day of Serie A basketball ended with Virtus Bologna’s victory over Napoli, with the final score 105-88 for the Vu Nere at the Paladozza. Convincing offensive performance for the hosts, with as many as seven men in double figures led by Morgan’s 16 points. For Naples, there were Simms’ 23, but they were not enough to return from’Emilia with two points in the standings.

Despite the success, Virtus coach Dusko Ivanovic did not fail to point out a critical issue in the postgame: “This team needs to defend and today we did not maintain the defensive level seen earlier, as was the case in Valencia– the Montenegrin coach commented -. In the first 20′ we also approached well but then we did not do the same in the second half”.

“This was a game that may please the fans but it cannot please us, because our nature is to defend – added Ivanovic -. We have not only young players, but especially many new players for whom it is necessary to get into our mechanisms in order to best deal with the commitments that will follow in the coming weeks”.

“We were coming from the match against Valencia who plays fast and in front we have Paris who plays just as fast. We have to play fast but above all we have to defend. To win against high level teams you have to defend and Virtus’ goal is to win, so we have to improve defensively” concluded the Virtus coach.
