Jasmine Paolini doesn’t tremble at the toughest time: comeback is worth the round of 16 in Wuhan

Jasmine Paolini continues her adventure in the WTA 1000 tournament in Wuhan, China: in the second round of the competition, despite a difficult first part of the match, the Italian champion was able to brilliantly react to the difficulties by defeating in comeback the Chinese Yuan Yue, executioner in the first round of Lucia Bronzetti.
3-6, 6-4, 6-3 the score in favor of the athlete from Bagni di Lucca, who raised her arms to the sky after two hours and twelve minutes of struggle on the concrete: a sporting battle that began badly, with two breaks that in fact handed the first set to the opponent of the day, and continued in an equally complex way, with a break ball for Yuan on 4-3 in the second set.
From there on, however, Paolini raised her level of play, first by turning the tide in the second set to a 6-4 final set, and then with a flawless third set, with two breaks in her own favor and a liberating scream at the end of the match that testifies to how difficult the Chinese evening was, against an opponent who proved to be far superior to her current ranking (number 109 WTA).
Jasmine Paolini already knows the opponent she will face in the round of 16: it is the Danish Clara Tauson, number 12 in the world ranking, who in her own match in the second round challenged and beat the Croatian Antonia Ruzic, closing the match with a clear 6-4, 6-0 in a total of one hour and sixteen minutes.
