Miralem Pjanic has no plans to hang up his boots just yet. The midfielder, born in 1990, is currently unemployed and is waiting for the right call to get back into the game and prove that he is still whole. He feels he is still capable of helping out. Someone of his class can still come in handy.

In the summer of 2024, the former Roma and Juventus director had been courted by Genoa but, in the end, chose to accept CSKA Moscow’s proposal. Now, however, the situation has changed. The Grifone is no longer in the hands of Alberto Gilardino, yet interest in the Bosnian would still be strong.

After his experiences at Roma and Juventus, Miralem Pjanic could therefore make a return to the Italian top flight a full five years later. The coming days will be decisive to see if Genoa will make a major move.

There has also been talk of MLS and Saudi Arabia but the feeling is that the 35-year-old director wants to stay in Europe. The’idea of returning to Italy where, in the past, he has done well, would whet his appetite. If Luka Modric and Kevin De Bruyne can make a difference in Serie A, why shouldn&#8217t he be able to too?
