A midfield reinforcement: Antonio Conte has informed the Napoli management of his number one target for the January market. The Azzurri club according to rumors reported by fichajes.net and several English media will retry the’assault on Manchester United young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

Conte wants a player with similar characteristics to Franck Zambo-Anguissa, who will be unavailable in the winter because he is engaged in the African Cup of Nations, and the first player on the list is precisely the English midfielder, who under Ruben Amorim is finding very little space with just 113 minutes played so far in the Premier League.

Desperate to repeat a McTominay-style coup, Napoli executives are ready to get serious about the player, who feels overlooked in the Red Devils and is seriously considering a possible move abroad, also to showcase himself ahead of the upcoming World Cup in North America.

The operation does not, however, promise to be one of the easiest: Napoli is aiming at a loan with right of redemption, and is in competition with other English clubs such as Aston Villa and Newcastle, both of which are very interested in the player.
