Daniil Medvedev is back: De Minaur knocked out, is in semifinals in Shanghai
Daniil Medvedev is back. The former world number one, currently ranked No. 18 in the ATP rankings, defeated in two sets (6-4 6-4) Alex De Minaur, number 7 in the seeding and ranking, after nearly two hours of play in the quarterfinal match of the Shanghai Masters 1000.
In the first set it is the Russian who breaks the’balance in the fifth game in which he takes away the Australian’s serve at zero. Medvedev nullifies two counter-break points in the next game, two more in the eighth game and another in the 10th game before closing at the third set-point (6-4).
The second set is decided by the Russian.

The Russian files the case on serve and returns to the semifinals in a Masters 1000, where he has been missing since Indian Wells.
