Jannik Sinner, superstar reception and message to fans

Jannik Sinner has landed in Riyadh. The Italian tennis player arrived in Saudi Arabia last night, ready to defend his title in the Six Kings Slam, the prestigious exhibition tournament that last year saw him triumph over Carlos Alcaraz in the final. Welcoming him at the airport was a crowd of enthusiastic fans, eager for a photo or an autograph-a true king’s welcome for the world number two.
“I am really happy to be back here in Riyadh to play the Six Kings Slam. Hope you enjoy, see you on Wednesday”, Sinner said in a video posted on Instagram and shared in his stories, appearing relaxed and smiling.
The South Tyrolean, who recently lost the top spot in the ATP rankings to Alcaraz after the US Open final, arrives in Arabia fresh from his withdrawal at the Shanghai Masters 1000, where he was stopped by cramps in the third round.
Sinner’s debut in the Saudi tournament is scheduled for Wednesday, when he will face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the first of two scheduled quarterfinals. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, on the strength of the most Slams won, have already qualified for the semifinals. If they win, Sinner could cross paths with Djokovic himself in the semifinals, while a possible re-match with Alcaraz would only be possible in the final – like a year ago.
