Bitter debut for Mattia Bellucci at the Brussels ATP 250. The Lombard, number 71 in the ATP ranking, surrendered in two sets to Marco Giron, world number 54, who won with a final score of 6-3 6-4 after an hour and eighteen minutes of play.

An uphill start for Giron, who surrendered his serve as early as the second game. The U.S. cancels a counter-break ball with an ace and confirms the break lead (3-0) preserving it until 6-3 with which he makes the first partial his.

Accordingly identical in the second set: Giron harpoons the break lead in the opening game with a pair of passes and concedes crumbs on serve – as many as 10 aces for the American at the end of the game ’also archiving the second partial (6-4).

Bellucci must thus bid farewell to the ‘BNP Paribas Fortis European Open’. Three Azzurri remain in the draw: Lorenzo Musetti, the seeding leader, Matteo Arnaldi, who will debut against Yannick Hanfmann, and Federico Cinà, opposed to Damir Dzumhur.
