Japan, resounding comeback with Brazil

Unbelievable comeback by Japan in friendly against Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil. At ‘Tokyo Stadium’ in Tokyo, the Seleçao closed the first half ahead 2-0 but in the second half suffered a resounding reversal by the hosts who scored 3 goals in 20 minutes.
The Greenoros unlocked the match on 26′ with Paulo Henrique beating Suzuki with the outside after a nice triangle with Bruno Guimaraes. Six minutes later Brazil found the double with Martinelli from the left, on an assist from Paquetà.
The second half opened with a terrible one-two from the Japanese: at 52′ Minamino shortened the gap by taking advantage of a mistake by Fabricio Bruno; ten minutes later Nakamura’s header evened the score, on an assist from Doan. At 71′ Ueda signed the overtake for the Nipponese with a header from the development of a corner kick.
Ancelotti cashed in on his second defeat as technical commissioner of the Brazilian national team: the first had been equally painless, against Bolivia, on the final day of World Cup 2026 qualifying, with the Seleçao already certain of a place at the next rainbow event.
