Genoa, Patrick Vieira: "Justified the booing of fans"

A missed penalty in the fifth minute of recovery denied Genoa its first win, which remains last in the standings. And for the first time, booing rained down from the stadium. Grifoni coach Patrick Vieira admits: “Right? I think so. They wouldn’t have been for the performance and attitude but they become it on the fact that we didn’t score and didn’t take the three points.”
“It is something I understand well and we have to accept the fact that the fans booed. They expected a win and they did their part by energizing the team. We from the first minute tried to win and showed that we had more desire than Parma to do so. Also because in the end the point is good for them and not for us. That is why we have to accept the booing of the fans”.
“There are the players who have confidence and must take these responsibilities. Cornet, unfortunately, did not score a goal. He will not be the first and he will not be the’last to not score a penalty. We have to accept it, it is true that it is difficult, but this is soccer. If we did not win the game, it is not his fault. We have to handle these difficulties as a real team and move on”.
“I always said this season would be complicated and difficult, we are in a difficult period. We had a chance to take these three points, but unfortunately we didn’t. The important thing is to accept this difficult time and continue to be united, move forward and look for this victory” concluded Vieira.
