In January, Roma could make a new attempt for Giovanni Fabbian, inserting in the deal with Bologna the tag of Tommaso Baldanzi, who finds space in an alternating current with Gian Piero Gasperini. For the former Empoli player, the track leading to Hellas Verona, beaten in vain by the Scaliger club in the summer, is also always alive.

Baldanzi, born in 2003, grew up in Empoli’s youth sector, where he stood out for his technique, vision of the game and ability to fit between the lines. After shining in the Primavera, he made his Serie A debut with the first team, attracting the attention of several clubs for his elegant style and potential as a modern trequartista. He moved to Roma in 2024 but never got the space he would have liked

Fabbian, also born in 2003, is a complete midfielder who grew up in Inter’s youth academy. After a successful season in Serie B with Reggina, he moved to Bologna, where he continued his growth path. A physical and dynamic footballer with a good propensity for insertion and scoring goals, Fabbian has carved out important minutes for himself in Serie A as well, confirming himself as one of the most interesting youngsters on the Italian scene.

Last August the Venetian received his first call-up to the national team by head coach Gennaro Gattuso, in preparation for the 2026 World Cup qualifying challenges against Estonia and Israel.
