Italrugby, Gonzalo Quesada dictates course toward challenges against Australia, South Africa and Chile

Reduced from a triptych of chiaroscuro summer test matches (only win with Namibia, then two heavy losses in South Africa against the Springboks), Italy is preparing for its next international matches, this time at home as tradition dictates in November. The Azzurri will face Australia in Udine on Nov. 8, the again South Africa in Turin a week later and finally Chile in Genoa on Nov. 22.
Between challenges to be tackled to the maximum for Gonzalo Quesada: for history and tradition Wallabies and Springboks are rugby powers but Chile has also improved its level a lot in recent years, even participating in the World Cup: “After the tour in Namibia and South Africa there is great enthusiasm – said the c.t. azzurro during the presentation in Milan of Italy’s international matches -: starting a new season, at home and in front of our fans, is a strong motivation for everyone”.
“The first match of an international series, as it also happens in the Six Nations, is always the most complex to prepare, but I have full confidence in the staff and the group– added the Argentine coach, at the helm of the national team since 2024 -. I am sure we will put in energy, focus and commitment to arrive ready, even with few training sessions together”.
The group of players will gather on Sunday, Oct. 26, together with the technical staff, in Verona: “We will work two days with the full group, then we will release the players who play abroad to allow them to return to the clubs– explained Quesada -We will all meet again in the week of the match against Australia. I know that every player will give everything to honor this jersey and to give our public a performance to be proud of. The support of the fans will, as always, be our biggest weapon”.
