Stihl Timbersports World Championship 2025, Australian dominance in Milan.

The anticipation was high and the show did not disappoint: the first day of the Stihl Timbersports World Championship 2025, hosted at the Allianz Cloud in Milan, gave pure excitement and adrenaline to the audience flocked to witness the World Team Championship.
As predicted, Australia dominated the scene, imposing itself with its usual authority and winning a new title without ever questioning its superiority. Australia’s “wood heroes” displayed impressive power and precision in the four iconic disciplines – Stock Saw, Single Buck, Underhand Chop and Standing Block Chop – once again confirming their hegemony in the discipline and clinching their tenth consecutive world title.
Sweden took a well-deserved second place behind them, after eliminating Italy in a hard-fought and spectacular duel that inflamed the home crowd. The Italian team – composed of Michel Perrin, Andrea Rossi, Alessandro Ciaponi, Michael Del Pin, Alberto Fumagalli and Mattia Puecher – gave everything on stage, supported by a warm and passionate audience. Despite the elimination, the Italian athletes showed character and determination, confirming the good level reached by the national movement.
Making the evening even more engaging was the unmistakable voice of Zoran Filicic, the event’s official speaker, who was able to drag the audience along with his energy and expertise. The Allianz Cloud, packed with spectators from numerous nations, experienced a night of pure spectacle amid the roar of chainsaws and the smell of freshly cut wood.
The only sore point came outside the arena: the road system around the facility was affected by the concurrence with the Milan-Pisa match, creating some inconvenience at the end of the event.
Now the wait moves to Saturday, Oct. 25, when it will be the turn of the individual trials, which will see the world’s top 12 athletes compete in the six disciplines Stihl Timbersports for the title of World Champion 2025. Among them is Italy’s Michel Perrin, determined to hold high the tricolor in front of the home crowd.
