Italian champion Michel Perrin, making his world debut, stopped in the first round after taking on the disciplines of Underhand Chop, Stock Saw and Standing Block Chop, but he conquered the arena with his determination and energy, inspiring the audience while giving great prominence to the Italian Stihl Timbersports movement.
The Italian national team, composed of Michel Perrin, Andrea Rossi, Alessandro Ciaponi, Michael Del Pin, Alberto Fumagalli and Mattia Puecher took 10th place at home in the knockout team competition that enlivened the Allianz Cloud on Friday, Oct. 24.
“Competing in front of the home crowd was an overwhelming emotion. I know there is still a lot of work to be done, the road is uphill and I am eager to learn how to climb it. The world championship represents an important stage in every athlete’s career, and for me this is just the beginning of a path of growth – says Michel Perrin, Italian champion 2025 -. Even in yesterday’s team competition we showed great fellowship and determination. The reception we received in Milan is proof of the growing interest of the Italian public in this sport, which I am sure will continue to win more and more fans here as well.”
Thousands of spectators who flocked from all over the world inflamed the atmosphere of the Allianz Cloud on the occasion of the first Stihl Timbersports World Championship organized in our country, an event that was an extraordinary success in terms of audience and participation, confirming the growth and spread of sporting woodcutting in Italy.
