L'Olimpia folds Venice, Messina: "Step forward on offense"

L’Olimpia Milano overcame Venice 101-88 in the game valid for the fourth day of Serie A basketball. It was the third consecutive victory for the meneghini, who benefited from the’excellent shooting day of Booker, Brooks and Shields, all of whom scored 23 points.
Milan coach Ettore Messina after the game applauded his team: “The game got complicated with Ricci’s second foul, having to play with four outsiders, since with them you can’t play with Booker as a 4. In the end we found a second half of great energy, Stefano Tonut gave us a big hand”.
“It’was an important win for us, against a team with great offensive potential – continued Messina -. In the first half we paid for moments of lack of lucidity, then in the second half we were more careful, even on who we needed to take away penetration or shooting. On offense the team had fluidity, 100 points still and many situations where we could attack the iron. We took a step forward”.
On Diop’s injury: “A slight elongation. He didn’t pull it, it should be something similar to Shields when he was out a week. I don’t think he’s there in the next two games, I hope to have him next Sunday”.
