Andrey Rublev explains the Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz duopoly.

Andrey Rublev, speaking at Bolshoi Tennis microphones, also spoke about the duopoly Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, world number two and one respectively, who have shared the last eight Grand Slam titles (four apiece).
“They are two players who can do everything – stressed the Russian -, they are very fast, they can play at high speed, they steal your time. You haven’t finished your shot yet, and the next one is already coming at you. They have a very good feeling in their approach to the ball, and they also know how to defend with ease. Both move very well, both have very good coordination’excellent coordination”.
“When they are defending they always keep their balance’added the ATP No. 17-ranked player -. And so even if things don’t go well, or their game doesn’t work, they can slow down with their legs, play defense and still win matches. Those aspects are probably what make the difference”.
.
“They can play at a high pace, at a high level for hours, without losing focus. They can maintain that level for four or five hours, and that is what makes them special. Because even players who can play at high speed, after an hour and a half or three hours, they have moments of decline. The two of them almost never have those dips” Rublev concluded.
