World Cup 2026: Lionel Messi makes a confession

Lionel Messi, fresh off his renewal with Inter Miami until 2028, gave an’interview to ‘NBC’ in which he also talked about the possibility of playing in the 2026 World Cup: “It is something extraordinary to be able to participate in a World Cup, and I would love to do it”.

“I would love to be there, to be well and to be an important part in helping my national team, if I will be there– added the 38-year-old Argentine -. I will evaluate everything day by day, when I start my preparation with Inter Miami next year, to see if I can really be 100 percent, if I can be useful to the group, to the national team, and then I will make a decision”.

“Obviously I have so much desire, because it is a World Cup– explained Pulce -We come from winning the last World Cup and being able to defend that title on the field is something spectacular, because it is always a dream to play with the national team, especially in official competitions”.

Closing on the triumph with Argentina in Qatar: “It was the dream of my life. It was also true that it was the only thing I missed at a professional level, because I had been lucky enough to win everything individually and as a team with Barcelona, and I think that is every footballer’s dream. When you ask a player what his dream is, he will tell you: to become world champion”.
