Not good news is coming from Paris for Lorenzo Musetti in terms of the ATP Finals. Felix Auger-Aliassime, in fact, overwhelmed Valentin Vacherot with a double 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Paris Masters 1000, bringing him closer and closer to the Azzurro in the ATP Race.

The Canadian, in fact, reached 3595 points in the Race and is now only 90 points behind Musetti, at 3685, who will have to take the court next week in Athens or Metz where two ATP 250 tournaments, the last of the season, are scheduled.

However, even a good result by the Carrarino in France or Greece may not be enough: in the event of a final at the ‘Rolex Paris Masters’ Aliassime would overtake Musetti and if he wins the title he would be automatically qualified precisely to the disadvantage of the Azzurro.

In short, the defeat in the derby with Lorenzo Sonego in the first round of the Paris Masters 1000 is likely to be fatal for Musetti who has only to hope: now qualification for the ATP Finals in Turin no longer depends on him.
