Genoa market: Marco Ottolini leaves, Juventus lurking

Now it is official: Marco Ottolini is no longer the sporting director of Genoa. This was announced by the Rossoblù club itself through an official statement: “Genoa CFC announces the termination of the working relationship with sporting director Marco Ottolini”.
“Since taking office, Ottolini has contributed to promotion to the top league – continues the note from the Grifone -, playing a central role in the development of operational plans, aimed at achieving the goals set for the 2023/24 and 2024/2025” seasons.
“The company thanks Marco Ottolini for his commitment and dedication wishing him the best in view of the professional challenges that await him” closes the Ligurian company’s statement.
Now Ottolini is even closer to Juventus, still on the hunt for a sporting director. “The search for a sporting director is still on – said Damien Comolli during the press conference for the presentation of Luciano Spalletti -, we are in a short list phase and we are reaching our goal. The search is still active”. For the Lombard ds it would be a return to the bianconero, in a completely different role: Ottolini had served as observer and loan area manager in his time at the Old Lady.
