3 very important points for AC Milan after the narrow victory against Roma. The Diavolo triumphed against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side thanks to Strahinja Pavlović’s goal in the 39th minute. Mike Maignan parried a penalty shot to Paulo Dybala.

Roma approached the match very well and started off strong, collecting plenty of scoring chances, however, sinning in the final strike. The hosts struggled to find their measures but were skillful in taking advantage of the first chance with Strahinja Pavlović, who capitalized on Rafael Leao’s run down the flank to the fullest by slipping a precise tap-in past Svilar.

The Roma team was able to find the right angle in the second half.

In the second half, the match&#8217s inertia totally changed: Milan came in with a whole different flair and put Roma on the ropes. Christopher Nkunku had a couple of very tasty chances but failed to capitalize on them, Leao came close to doubling the score but the Giallorossi rearguard saved on the line.

The Giallorossi were able to score a goal.

The Capitolini then surged forward and won a penalty kick in the 82nd minute after Fofana’s hand foul. From the penalty spot came Paulo Dybala, who, however, was hypnotized by an excellent Mike Maignan, who was responsive in defusing the Argentine star’s shot (who was injured in taking the penalty). The Giallorossi rushed forward in desperate search of an equalizer but the Milan rearguard held up.
