When Jasmine Paolini plays at the WTA Finals: background with Coco Gauff

After a narrow defeat in the opener to Aryna Sabalenka, Jasmine Paolini is hunting for redemption on the second day of Group ‘Stefanie Graf’ of the WTA Finals in Riyadh. The Tuscan, number 8 in the seeding, will take on Coco Gauff, the third seed.

The match between the Italian and the American is set no earlier than 3 p.m. Italian time (5 p.m. local time) on Tuesday, Nov. 4, on the indoor concrete center court of the ‘King Saud University Indoor Arena’ in Riyadh. Opening the program will be a doubles match at 1 p.m. Italian time (3 p.m. local).

There is perfect parity in the precedents between the two players who have already faced each other four times this year with the Azzurra holding a 3-1 advantage: Jasmine won in three sets in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati and in two sets in the final of the Internazionali d’Italia and the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 in Stuttgart, while Coco won the semifinal of the WTA 1000 in Wuhan.

The American boasts two other successes with the Tuscan: in the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati in 2023 and in the first round of the WTA 500 in Adelaide in 2023.
