Juventus market, eyes on outgoing star from Barcelona

In January, Juventus could intervene in the market to reinforce the defensive department at Luciano Spalletti’s disposal. According to Spanish sources, the Bianconeri club would also have Eric Garcia in its sights.

The Spaniard is expiring his contract with Barcelona: talks are underway between the Balugrana management and the champion’s entourage but no agreement has yet been reached to continue together. Should Eric Garcia decide not to renew, Joan Laporta could put him on the market in January to avoid losing him for free in the summer.

Juventus will also have to reckon with competition from Paris Saint Germain: Luis Enrique is a great admirer of Eric Garcia, and the many injuries this early in the season are forcing the European champions to look around.

Among the profiles sounded out by Juventus is also that of Lautaro Rivero of River Plate, a promising young Argentine who is also very much liked by Atletico Madrid.
