Not bad Aprilia in Portugal: Marco Bezzecchi was the author of an extraordinary Q2, taking pole position with a time of 1:37.556, his fourth of the season after those obtained in Austria, Misano and Mandalika. In the sprint, he immediately took the lead at the first corner, relinquishing the position after a few laps but still finishing with an excellent third place just six tenths behind the winner.

For Bezzecchi this is the thirteenth podium of the season, considering also the victory in the Silverstone GP and the successes in the Misano, Mandalika and Phillip Island sprints. Important points that keep the Romagnolo in third position in the riders’ standings with 298 points.

“I am happy, it was a good sprint and a good day in general with the pole position. The pace I had in practice was about the same as today. Clearly I was hoping to be able to do a little better, maybe even fight with the top two, but unfortunately I was slightly slower” said the centaur.
