Memorable day for Massimo Pessina, the 17-year-old Bologna goalkeeper who had the opportunity to make his absolute Serie A debut against Italian champions Napoli at the Dall’Ara. Skorupski&#8217s injury forced the Rossoblu technical staff to throw the very young defensive end into the fray, who withstood the strain and was unfazed, so much so that he finished the match without conceding a goal.

Pessina made his first save on Elmas in the first half, and in the second half he was saved by a post on one of the visiting team’s few chances. At the end of the match he was celebrated by his teammates and burst into tears.

Who arrived at Bologna when he was 13 years old from AlbinoLeffe, Pessina went all the way through the Emilia youth selections and was called up several times in the Italy Under 16 and Under 19. His role model as a goalkeeper is Neuer, his idol Buffon.

“We played a great game against a great team, I am happy for Pessina, seeing him cry at the end of the game moved me. This is a healthy and strong group, we enjoy this victory”, said Daniel Niccolini, the deputy of Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano.
