Save for resounding last-minute surprises, Raffaele Palladino will be Ivan Juric&#8217s replacement on the Atalanta bench. The 41-year-old Mugnano di Napoli-born coach, whose name in recent days had also been approached by Fiorentina for the post-Pioli role before the purple club made official the arrival of Paolo Vanoli, is now down to the details with the Orobico club.

Palladino, after ending his playing career in 2019 with Monza, had begun his adventure on the bench precisely at the Brianza club, starting from the Under-15 to the Primavera formation. On Sept. 13, 2022, he then took Giovanni Stroppa&#8217s place at the helm of the biancorossa first team, leading it from last place to a convincing salvation at the end of Monza&#8217s historic first season in Serie A.

Remaining at the biancorosso until 2024, Palladino had then moved on to lead Fiorentina, finishing the year in sixth place in the league with consequent qualification for the Conference League, a tournament in which the same violets, with Palladino on the bench, had reached the semifinals before being eliminated in the double-header by Betis of Seville.

Now another adventure on the bench is about to begin for the Campania coach, at the helm of an’Atalanta committed on three fronts: in the league, La Dea is currently 13th with 13 points, -6 from the Europa zone, while in the Champions League it is in the batch of 7-point teams in the middle of the League Phase, in the playoff zone. The next December 3 will then see the start of the Coppa Italia adventure, with the Nerazzurri pitted against Genoa in the round of 16.
