Serious accident for Matteo Bettanti: in hospital in red code

The basketball world rallies around Matteo Bettanti, a young basketball player who was involved in a major car accident on Sunday evening. The’former ELAchem Vigevano athlete was hospitalized in a red code in intensive care at Niguarda’Hospital.

This is the statement from the club in the province of Pavia: “The family of Nuova Pallacanestro Vigevano 1955 is cheering for Matteo Bettanti, who was injured in a major car accident that occurred to him along with one’other person on the evening of Sunday, November 9”.

“The 21-year-old from Vigevano had returned to Italy in 2023/24, coming from a college experience at Montverde Academy in the United States, attached to ELAchem Vigevano with whom he played the entire A2 series championship. He missed most of last season due to injury and was in contact with several teams in recent weeks to return to play. Matteo is hospitalized in code red in the intensive care unit at Niguarda Hospital, is responding to treatment and is continuously monitored by doctors in the department. Come on Matteo, don&#8217t give up!”.
