Cassell Anthony Kuoh Sr explains the Fabio Lopez choice: "We want to restore dignity to our club"

The Fassell coaching job was highly coveted and there was a host of top candidates, but the president and CEO of the important club in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, after careful analysis has set his sights on Fabio Lopez to revive a team that is going through a rough patch.

Cassell Anthony Kuoh Sr., as outlined by Fassell in a note, said he was thrilled that the Roman coach accepted the challenge of working for the African country’s defending champion club.

“We want to restore dignity to our club. We believe that in the last month the team has had a drop in form and that the pride that Liberians know us for has waned a bit” he stressed.

Lopez, class of 1973, has worked in Lithuania, with a couple of top league clubs, in Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia (in the prestigious Al-Ahli), Oman, Vietnam, and most recently in South Africa. His notable resume also includes experience as Bangladesh technical commissioner.
